Leven K Lavender

Kellie and Matthew Oxenford have diversified their business from growing lucerne to include lavender as well.  Their lavender oil has won numerous high profile and prestigious awards.  We are very pleased to showcase them and have them share some of their story with us.  To read more and visit their website, go to

Leven K Lavender
Leven K Lavender is a family owned and operated Lavender farm. Leven K Lavender is located 11 km from the southern Queensland town of Inglewood. Our property is located on the Cunningham Highway between the major centres of Warwick and Goondiwindi. Our main income is lucerne production and our passion is lavender. On our web site you will have an insight into our Lavender Farm, learn about lavender and its properties, find a recipe or two and have the opportunity to browse our Shed Shop.  We invite you to visit our farm between November and February each year to see the lavender in flower and let us share our passion for lavender with you!

We moved to our current property `Leven K' in January 2000, a new start to the millennium and a new lifestyle. The property had previously farmed tobacco so we inherited many tobacco industry remnants including three drying barns.

Our shed shop is open to the public seasonally from November through until February, Thursday to Sunday. It is filled with lavender goodies ranging from lavender essential oil, linen, china, wheat bags, creams and balms. Currently 1ha is planted to lavender and we anticipate planting another 1ha over the next 2 years.

We have done all the planting, harvesting, weeding, stripping, distilling, crying, laughing and whingeing on our own with the help of Grace, Laurie and Hamish (our beautiful children).

The lavender is a common interest for both of us which we feel can diversify our business to a new level. If nothing else the enjoyment from growing such a beautiful plant is reward enough on its own.
